Star Wars The Force Awakens: Finn’s Story – Book Review

Jesse Holland re-tells the narrative of The Force Awakens through Finn’s eyes. The book, surprisingly, opens at the ending of Finn’s story in Before the Awakening rather than starting at the beginning of the film. This was really well done as it adds a bit more depth to certain elements of the story.

Who’s Who in the Star Wars Universe? – Muftak

A male Talz from Orto Plutonia, Muftak was abandoned in Mos Eisley, a spaceport located on the planet Tatooine, as a newborn. He grew up knowing he was different from other species, but had no knowledge of the Talz or his homeworld. Muftak became a pickpocket and took up residence in abandoned tunnels beneath Docking Bay 83. To avoid overheating, he frequented Chalmun’s Cantina, where he could also pick a pocket or two. He was friends with various other regulars, and, when not drinking, he planned robberies with a Chadra-Fan named Kabe.

Who’s Who in the Star Wars Universe? – Logray

Logray was a male Ewok from the forest moon of Endor who served as the chief shaman of Bright Tree tribe during the Galactic Civil War. At one point during the war, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca and C-3PO were brought to the tribe. Logray, believing Threepio a god ordered Skywalker, Solo, and Chewbacca to be cooked as a sacrifice to their “god”. The three were freed after Skywalker used the Force to trick the Ewoks into believing that Threepio was using his “magic” in a display of powerful anger.

Sean Crawford Interview – Saelt Marae (Yak Face)

Saelt-Marae was a Yarkora who worked for Jabba Desilijic Tiure, a powerful Hutt crime lord. Posing as a humble merchant, the Yarkora mingled with the various denizens of Jabba’s fortress on Tatooine, learning of the intrigues developing behind the Hutt’s back and revealing those to his employer. Shortly before the Battle of Endor, Saelt-Marae traveled on board Jabba’s sail barge Khetanna to the Great Pit of Carkoon to witness the execution of two of the Hutt’s prisoners, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. The prisoners were to be fed to the Sarlacc which resided in the pit, but managed to escape and kill Jabba before destroying the sail barge.

Who’s Who in the Star Wars Universe? – Pote Snitkin

Pote Snitkin was a Skrilling arms dealer who worked for the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure.

At some point, Pote Snitkin became an arms dealer and later obtained a work as pilot for one of the mutliple skiffes of the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure. During the Galactic Civil War, Pote Snitkin piloted a skiff full of Jabba’s guards through the dunes of the planet Tatooine to the Great Pit of Carkoon, where the Hutt planned on feeding the Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker and the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca to a sarlacc in retaliation of the death of his pet rancor Pateesa.

Tim Donaldson Interview – Jawa

Jawas were a sentient species of meter-tall humanoids native to the Outer Rim desert world of Tatooine.

What Jawas hid underneath their heavy robes was subject to much speculation from the colonists who settled on Tatooine, with rumors claiming they were giant rodents or devolved humans. Although Jawas were typically small, measuring only one meter, some of them were significantly taller than that. One of those abnormally gangly Jawas was almost as tall as a 3PO unit, a model of protocol droid measuring 1.71 meters.
